Rating Appeals

Let us help relive you of the burden that commercial rates can have on your business!

As a company we have over 25 years of specialist rating experience advising occupiers in all aspects of commercial rates.  We have negotiated appeals the 1973, 1990, 1995, 2000 and 2005 revaluations ranging from small single let premises to large, multi-let serviced offices.  The diversity of our experience covers appealing rates bills on pubs, restaurants and children’s nurseries and from factories to funeral parlours, schools to betting shops.

We don’t just appeal rates bills.  Our advice extends further than this.  We advise on occupational allowances and exemptions. We also advise on material changes in circumstances which could reduce the rates payable such as adjacent building works or increased competition.  We also recommend when it is worth appealing or if premises need splitting or merging under a rating list in order to maximise savings for our clients. We can tell you the implications for future rates liabilities.

We use specialist software that is continually updated with the latest amendments to the rating list enabling us to monitor our clients’ rates liabilities particularly where Notices of Alterations are served. We are also able to search for reductions in rateable value and appeals against neighbouring and similar premises   Other dedicated software enables us to accurately calculate rate liabilities and allows appeals to be managed efficiently.

Usually, our professional fees are worked out on a savings  basis (no win no fee) without any up-front fees or abortive costs..

We are Members of the Rating Surveyors Association.
